Teknion Corporation today announced the preview of its new Sprout Stool & Table Collection at showroom #1048 during NeoCon, June 10-12, The Merchandise Mart, Chicago.
“The Sprout collection of stools and tables is inspired by nature − budding flowers, foliage and branches at varying stages of size and growth,” said Cam Phung, Design Manager, Seating. “Each can be displayed solo, like a small flower in a bud vase, or be part of a larger arrangement of similar or varying colors and textures. One of Sprout’s alluring qualities is that its sturdily constructed steel base and aluminum support can be finished in any Teknion paint color, allowing a ‘bouquet’ of possibilities when married with Luum upholstery options.”
Counter- and bar-height stools are equipped with a minimalist footrest that appears to be sprouting out from the column. The 18-inch-high (45.7cm) task-height model can be used in casual lounge areas or within a workstation. The upholstered seat swivels, making the stool ideal to access in small spaces like phonebooths.
Table shapes of round and soft square correspond with 16-inch-high (40.6cm) lounge, 29-inch-high (73.6cm) task, 36-inch-high (91.4) counter and 42-inch-high (106.7cm) bar heights. Their small-scaled top surfaces – 24- and 30-inch-diameter round (61 and 76.2cm), and 24- and 30-inch soft square − imply an intimate yet informal gathering, such as a date for cocktails or a quick chat.
Ideal for short-term applications, Sprout is perfect for use in workplaces, phonebooths, cafeterias, cafes, retail and educational settings. Designed for commercial applications, the products have been tested to BIFMA standards and the stools have a 300-pound (136kg) weight capacity.
In addition to the Sprout Stool & Table Collection, Teknion will also be featuring at NeoCon the Just-Us Chair designed by Justus Kolberg, the Wilkhahn AT Task Chair and Wilkhahn Occo Multi-Purpose Seating.
