Teknion Corporation today announced that multiple new products unveiled at the 51st edition of NeoCon – “the world’s leading platform and most important event of the year for the commercial design industry” – were recognized with prestigious awards. Highlights include an Innovation Award for Teknion Bene Box in the Furniture Collections for Collaboration category, and a Best of NeoCon Gold award for Tek Vue in the Movable Walls category.
“Just prior to NeoCon, Teknion announced a new partnership with the European office furnishings company Bene, and the preview of the Teknion Bene Box in our showroom during NeoCon,” said Joe Regan, Senior VP, Design and Corporate Marketing. “Our new venture with Bene is clearly off to an exciting start with this Innovation Award − one of only eight presented this year. The Best of NeoCon Gold for our Tek Vue wall product is a tribute to the design excellence of our in-house architectural products team.”
Teknion Bene Box was also recognized as a Winner in the Metropolis Likes Awards sponsored by Metropolis magazine. Bene Box, in conjunction with the Naava Greentech Health Wall, were two of only 34 new NeoCon products to receive Metropolis Likes in the 2019 competition. The appearance of the Naava Greentech Health Wall in Teknion’s showroom is the culmination of a new alliance between Teknion and the Finnish health technology company Naava.
The Naava Wall was also named an Honoree, along with Teknion’s new Sprout Stool and Table Collection, in the HiP Awards sponsored by Interior Design magazine. Naava was recognized in the Health & Wellness: Furniture category, and Sprout in the Hospitality: Seating category.
Teknion Bene Box
Teknion Bene Box is the ideal multi-functional modular furnishing system, combining desks, tables, stools, shelves and storage space to create flexible options for any room, and for an entire floor plan. Teknion Bene Box easily assembles, disassembles and can be modified by hand in just a few quick steps to create whatever settings are required. Deceptively simple, building blocks flexibly shape work environments to support multiple team tasks that encourage lively group dynamics and creativity.
Tek Vue
Tek Vue is a glass office-front system that responds to such essential needs as aesthetics, space division, site accommodation and privacy. The system focuses on single-center glazing and thin-profile frames, while providing effortless integration with conventional construction and existing Teknion wall programs. Tek Vue wall and door programs are built on the concept of a universal platform, which re-envisions how a system can be specified, planned and installed within the evolving world of interior architecture.
Naava Greentech Health Wall
The Naava wall reconnects office workers with nature, creating healthier, happier and more inspiring workplaces. It is scientifically proven to naturalize indoor air, reduces harmful chemicals and optimizes humidity. Plant species are attractive, resilient and allergy-friendly. They are planted in a soil-less, porous growth medium with special pots to enhance air circulation. Sensors in the wall measure the variables of Naava and its surroundings. Three versions of the Naava Green Wall are available.
Sprout Stool & Table Collection
The Sprout Stool & Table Collection by Danish designer Thomas Pedersen combines classic organic lines with innovative ideas and simple details. Inspired by nature − budding flowers, foliage and branches at varying stages of size and growth − each can be displayed solo or be part of a larger arrangement of similar or varying colors and textures. Ideal for short-term applications, Sprout is perfect for use in workplaces, phonebooths, cafeterias, cafes, retail and educational settings.
Eighty-three awards were distributed in the Best of NeoCon 2019 competition of contract furnishing products during NeoCon in the 30th annual competition. There were entries in 42 product and furnishing categories in the competition presented by Contract magazine, and sponsored by NeoCon and The McMorrow Reports Facility Management & Design Insights.
